New College employs full-time, part-time and casual staff, who support and operate the day to day activities of the Colleges, maintaining a positive and supportive environment for the residents. The staff team also provides first class conference & accommodation facilities.

Adjunct Prof Bill Peirson

Adj Prof Bill Peirson is is the Master & Chief Executive Officer of New College. His role involves the overall management of New College and New College Postgraduate Village. He also provides leadership in relation to pastoral oversight, academic support, development of New College and the relationship of the College to the alumni, University and wider community. Adj Prof Peirson is the Director of The Centre for Christian Apologetics, Scholarship and Education (CASE), which is a ministry of New College. Adj Prof Peirson was formerly the Director of UNSW’s Water Research Laboratory at the Manly Campus and he continues to supervise and conduct research.


Mr Jonathan Billingham
Dean of Residents - New College

Jonathan oversees the pastoral care and academic tutorial programs for the residents at the undergraduate New College. This involves coordinating the team of Resident Advisers and the team of Academic Tutors to ensure all New Collegians are best supported during their membership of the College. The Dean’s responsibilities also include interviewing all prospective residents, coordinating formal dinners, coordinating the Christian College Services, liaising with stakeholders for a plethora community activities, and managing the ebb and flow of residents through their stay at College. The Dean of Residents lives onsite with his family at New College. Jonathan Billingham is also a composer and musician, continuing to practice and research within the discipline.


Ms Susan Bazzana
Dean of Residents - New College Postgraduate Village

Susan Bazzana oversees the pastoral care for the residents and the academic tutorial programs at New College Postgraduate Village. She coordinates the NCV Senior Resident Team and its Academic Tutors. Susan works with Lucille Coleman on the NCV admissions process. She lives at New College Postgraduate Village.


Mr Ian Sharpe

Mr Ian Sharpe is responsible for the College finances, for financial support and assistance, as well the managing and coordination of catering and IT.


Ms Sue Cheng

Ms Sue Cheng is responsible for invoicing students and processing transactions with external companies.

Edwina works as the Master’s Executive Assistant.


Ms Lucille Coleman 
Admissions Officer

Lucille is usually the first member of the New College staff that prospective residents will speak with. She processes applications submitted by prospective New College and NCV residents. Prospective residents can question Lucille about the College and the application process and request a tour of the buildings.


Mrs Vicki Vardaoulis
Receptionist/Student Services

Mrs Vicki Vardaoulis is the receptionist at New College. In her role she is the first point of contact for the residents and the public. She is the main contact point for student administrative and finance services. She fields a number of inward flowing communications and enquiries in her role.

(NCV) Receptionist/Student Services

Ms Connie Cheah is the receptionist at NCV. In her role she is the first point of contact for the residents and the public. She is the main contact point for student administrative and finance services. She fields a number of inward flowing communications and enquiries in her role.


Ms Adela Davis
Communications Officer

Adela coordinates the College's marketing, fundraising and the annual New College Lectures. She produces various New College publications, creates content for the College website and social media pages, looks after CASE subscriptions and marketing, and helps to maintain the College's relationship with its alumni and friends. She is also the author of the College's history book, Something Borrowed, Something Blue: 50 Years of New College, UNSW, 1969-2019.

Systems Management Assistant

Danny assists in managing the systems of the college, such as databases, interfaces, and online spaces.


Dr Dani Scarratt
Associate Editor, Case Magazine

Dani is the Associate Editor of the quarterly publication Case Magazine. CASE equips Christians to understand their faith and talk about it creatively and intelligently. CASE also provides an open, intellectual environment in which non-Christian enquirers and sceptics can seek and obtain meaningful input about the relevance of the Christian faith.

Mr Ben Staunton
New College Village Assistant Dean

Ben, in partnership with the Dean, has responsibility for the support and development of residents through leading the team of Senior Residents (SRs). He is involved in the life of the College through a number of different avenues such as participating in or attending sports, being involved in functions and weekly social events, and being available to lead Tuesday evening supper each week. Ben has a special pastoral responsibility for the SR team, the students on his floor of the College and, from time to time throughout the year, other residents requiring a higher level pastoral care. He also provides academic support in Accounting and Business subjects.


Miss Hannah Dunn
New College Assistant Dean

Hannah has responsibility for the support and development of residents through leading the team of Resident Advisers (RAs) in partnership with the Dean. This care includes coordinating the RA duties and supporting the RAs in carrying out their responsibilities. Hannah is currently completing a Bachelor of Science at UNSW.

Maintenance Officer (New College)

Mr Trevor Perrin is the Maintenance Officer at New College. His role involves managing the day-to-day programmed maintenance, cleaning and repair programs at New College.

Ross is our yardman and takes care of the New College Village grounds as well as assisting with day-to-day maintenance of NCV.

Scolarest Catering Manager

Mr Daniel Higgins as Catering Manager is responsible for managing the catering at NC, as well as the Chefs and other Scolarest employees on site as they carry out food preparation and service for NC residents and staff.
