NCV is a cultural melting pot and living with residents from various parts of the world exposes you to a plethora of diverse cultures.

Ash – Studies a Master of Engineering Science in Petroleum Engineering – NCV Choir Member

I've found that NCV has the perfect balance between having an active community life and having the time needed for work and other commitments. The active community life in NCV has made it easy for me to quickly form a large circle of friends and has helped me settle down in Sydney.

Every Monday, I look forward to supper, which takes place in the common room of each floor, as it is a great opportunity to bond with residents from my floor. The monthly BBQs in the courtyard are also a great time to interact with other residents while enjoying the delicious food cooked by our Senior Residents. For those interested in social and cultural activities, we have weekly Bollywood Dance workshops and yoga classes. We also have multiple social and cultural events, from Pizza & Karaoke night, to NCV Factor (our very own talent show). One of the most memorable events from this semester was the celebration of Jamaica's 50th Year of Independence.

During my stay in NCV, I have been actively involved in the community. I have participated with the NCV Choir at the two Talent Night events, the UNSW Night Market and the NCV Formal Dinner. Additionally, I have also performed with the NCV Band during the two Talent Night events. I believe that all these interactions with fellow residents at NCV has resulted in me quickly embracing Sydney as my new 'home away from home'.
