For students who enjoy their sport, you’ll hopefully be able to find an appropriate outlet at NCV! A range of casual and organised sport is played by residents throughout the year. Some residents dabble in a bit of soccer on the Village Green and Futsal on the field behind New College each afternoon and on the weekend. NCV has an indoor soccer team which competes weekly in the UNSW competition. Of course, students also participate in a range of other UNSW sporting clubs
One sporting highlight each year is the “Master’s Challenge”, which is played between NCV and its sibling community, New College. Sports played to date include Soccer, Table Tennis & Badminton. This year the NCV is also aiming to put together a Netball team. If you like your sport a little more low key, then the NCV games room is a popular place for residents to relax and enjoy a game of table tennis or pool.
For the more serious sports man or woman, NCV is conveniently located close the UNSW Lifestyle Centre, which includes the gym, swimming pool and is the venue for a variety of indoor sports and exercise classes. NCV is also just over the road from the Village Green where cricket and AFL are played and within walking distance from the UNSW playing fields at Dave Phillips Sporting Complex.
