Early Science Exhibition
The collection of scientific instruments displayed throughout New College Village are on loan from The University of NSW and members of the family of Professor Christopher John (Kit) Milner. Many of the historic scientific instruments were housed in a building that stood on this site prior to the construction of the New College Village.
The purpose of the exhibit is to:
- Honour science and the contributions of scientists to the development of The University of New South Wales.
- Acknowledge the importance of the University’s early (and continuing) connection with industry and the importance of research that leads to real world applications.
- Specifically honour Professor CJ Milner, one of the pioneers of Science and Technology at this University, whose unique contribution was foundational to much that is distinctive about scientific research at UNSW. The display would not have been possible without the support of Professor Milner’s family, the University and the ‘Museum Without Walls’.
