Darshini Rajeshwaran was thrilled to receive The Master of Urban Development and Design Discipline Director’s Award in March. “It’s a great privilege to receive this award and have the University recognise my Design capabilities,” says Darshini.

The Award was given on the closing night of the ‘MUDD22 Exhibition - Infrastructure and the City’ and was part of the 10th Annual Paul Reid Lecture in Urban Design presented by UNSW Built Environment. Darshini has been an NCV resident since 2016 as she has been studying a Masters of Urban Development and Design (MUDD). She is also working part-time as a Design consultant and plans to take part in a research program this July.

Darshini has truly appreciated the NCV community during her time studying at UNSW. Living on campus has made the hard work and late nights required in the Master’s program far more bearable. “NCV has given me the opportunity to meet a lot of people who are studying related programs, such as architecture, which has enabled me to have many fruitful design discussions and exchanges of ideas,” says Darshini.

After completing her degree, Darshini hopes to work in Sydney as part of the NSW Planning Department or with one of the big Design firms in the city. Being a recipient of the prestigious Discipline Director’s Award will significantly help as Darshini moves into the industry she is passionate about.

Congratulations once again Darshini, and all the best for your future in Design!
